Am I the only one who feels utterly sick of politians and politics, both here and abroad. We all grumble about them being untrustworthy, self-serving scumbags but we still vote for them.
And that's where it gets really odd - we know we're going to get screwed, we know they will renege on promises, we know they will trade their loyalty and integrity at the alter of expediency and we know that dispite the appearance of having many parties to choose from; the reality is, its only a two horse race - it always is.
And yet when election year rolls around, we listen to their promises (all the while knowing them to be lies), we make our choice and cast our vote.
I saw a meme recently that stated the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Seems to me that pretty much sums up the election process too.
Maybe its time to stand up New Zealand. Remind them that they work for us. Get angry people.
